Dimitri's International Grille History since 1962
In the 60's The Greek Family
Jimmy (Dimitri) and Millie Coroneos, started in 1962 with a dining room menu consisting of Authentic Greek and American fare. The creation of Dimitri's own Beef-ke-bob sandwich was born with a patent on the rotisserie. Today over a million sold.
In The 70's
We added traditional Maryland fare to our homemade Greek foods. Also, Sour Beef and Dumplings was born at the D.I.G. Baltimore Magazine ranked Dimitri's Sour Beef and Dumplings the number one in Maryland and continues to be our most popular entrée drawing customers as far as Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C.
In the 80's
We remodeled our dining room to a more family style setting and introduced Italian dishes to round out our Mediterranean menu.
In The 90's
During this decade, our Daughter Litsa and son Lambi graduated from college and climbed aboard the operation. Master Chef Salvatore Alfeo joined the team and did his part to creating our International menu and countless Chef creations. Also, an 80 seat "al fresco" deck was also added, that can be used during spring and summer months.
In The 2000's
With the celebration of our 40th year, our daughter Christina and son-in-law Tom joined the team by early 2000. Outside, major renovations continued with an enlarged 100 car parking lot and brilliant signs and lights illuminating Dimitri's International Grille.
Inside, the renovations were more extravagant. The Aegean room was unveiled as the new main dining room. Seating over 70 people, the room is decorated with life size Grecian murals and real balconies that make you feel as though you are dining in the Mediterranean.
Even the family sports bar that Dimitri's offers was rejuvenated with a dozen new flat screens and new tables, and is always a favorite to watch the game or dine with the family.
In The 2010's
We celebrated our 50th year! In this decade Dimitri's is keeping up the philosophy of cooking with love, quality, and consistency using only the freshest and finest ingredients. To keep in touch with current market trends, we have introduced multiple small plates and healthier dining options. We have launched both a vegetarian and gluten-free menu for those guests that have special dietary needs.
