Dear members and guests of our great community,
It has been quite some time since we have had the pleasure to serve you. Thank you for all your messages of concern and well wishes during this time. We are most appreciative. Everyone of our staff has remained safe and continues to do so. During this time of our temporary closure and global uncertainty, we have been working behind the scenes to secure a safe and new protocol for our GRAND REOPENING curbside, eventually delivery, and outside and in house social distance dining.
As the restaurant and bar industry will look and seem different moving forward, one thing will never change, our delicious and authentic food and our reliable and trustworthy service we have been providing you for the past 58 years.
Our modern day DIG or Dimitris 8 mile House as it was known back in the day, has seen a lot of changes both physically and mentally over the years. Physically, it grew from a local Mom and Pop shop to a destination dining establishment. Every decade from 1962, we remodeled or expanded, built a state of the art kitchen in the early 90’s, which led to an expansion of our bar area, and the start of our outdoor garden decks. We jumped into 2000 with creating a new 70 seat dining room, the Aegean room, and finalized with our 3rd deck expansion. In 2004, we were able to expand our parking area to meet the needs of our growth on the inside.
Mentally, we monitored the dining trends of our society for the past six decades, and slowly and carefully tested and adopted such trends on our menu without sacrificing our core bread and butter menu items (whose recipes have never changed), that allowed us to physically do all of the above. Just recently, we introduced a new menu with state of the art menu paper that allows us to clean in our commercial dishwasher daily and now, moving forward, after each use. Our latest menu and website, enunciates our Gluten Free, Vegetarian, and Vegan menu items for a trend that is here to stay. It may be a small market to some extent, yet, growing and reliable.
In the meantime, how do you manage a closed restaurant during a pandemic? With the same grit, glory, and passion, as if it were open! YOU STAY SAFE, YOU STAY CLEAN, YOU HELP OTHERS, AND YOU LEARN! Those values and morals have not changed since we have been temporarily closed! The first couple weeks were beyond comprehensive. Since then, they have become manageable and now controllable. Our resources and new protocols both for safety and reopening that are being provided to our industry are invaluable. Thank you to all of the restaurant industry professionals for your aggressive efforts to keep us informed to help us “reinvent the wheel” at this time. Furthermore, many thanks and gratitude to all of the restaurants that have remained open to service our community.
Dimitris International Grille will reopen, when we have all the right tools (online ordering) and safety measures (already have in place), as we create our new normal.
